2D
CAD line work forms the most common
deliverable of any laser scanning survey.
Our 2D plans and building elevations
are drafted in AutoCAD and conform to
survey CAD standards for seamless integration
with conventional survey data and external
plans. Sections and profiles can easily
be drafted to provide accurate base
data for 3D modeling in BIM packages. |

Wireframe
models are drafted in AutoCAD similarly
to the 2D line work but from spatially
accurate 3D geometry. Models can be
integrated as mass elements in BIM packages
or used as base models for 3D animations. |

SURFACES
|
| Point
cloud data, wireframe models, or derived
contour models can be surfaced to form
solid geometry. 3D surfaces are generated
from original point cloud data are much
simplified to allow for easy manipulation
in BIM or 3D modeling packages such
as 3DS Max or Sketchup. |

POINTCLOUD DATA |
| The
raw survey data collected by the laser
scanner is made up of millions of xyz
coordinate points. Once cleaned and
registered together, this dataset can
be manipulated and queried in a number
of software packages. |

CLASH DETECTION |
| Assuring
the accuracy of BIM models is a crucial
step in design/build programs. Ensuring
the proposed development fits as designed
to the existing condition of the site
makes it possible to eliminate costly
on site alterations. By laser scanning
the existing conditions and running
clash detection comparisons to BIM,
potential issues can be highlighted
quickly and easily. |

| BIM
BASE DATA |
| Development
of an accurate BIM requires reliable
existing conditions mapping. Production
of detailed CAD plans, sections, and
elevations from comprehensive laser
scans allows the BIM model to be based
on dependable survey information. |

PLANT MODELING |
| Creation
of pipe and plant 3D models using laser
scan data provides a cost effective
method of fully documenting an installation.
With direct drafting and modeling in
AutoPlant, PlantSpace or PDS using Cloudworx,
retrofitting and virtual design builds
can be completed accurately and in with
low risk. |

| |
| VOLUME
CALCULATIONS |
| By
producing detailed and accurate surveys
of material piles, laser scanning can
enable far greater accuracy in volume
calculation. This allows for improved
management materials on sites and fill
import/export decisions. |

|
| |
| SURFACE
CONTOURING
|
| Detailed
micro contouring of ground surfaces
can provided crucial information on
potential settlement issues, drainage,
and slope. When combined with spot elevations,
sections, and solid modeling this provides
a comprehensive understanding of surface
change. |

"Walsh
Brothers found the Harry R. Feldman team to be responsive
to our needs and very timely in the delivery of their
product. Their 3D modeling expertise provides clients
with the ease of viewing potential constructability points
well before they manifest themselves in the field.
The strategy for executing complex enabling work in the
field as well as the demonstration of building construction
sequencing is invaluable in a 3D format. Our firm would
welcome the opportunity to work with the Feldman team
again."
